Natasha Leedman joins Talbot Olivier's workplace relations practice - July 2010

Talbot Olivier is pleased to announce the appointment of senior workplace relations lawyer, Natasha Leedman.

Natasha provides advice and conducts litigation on all aspects of state and federal workplace relations law.

Prior to joining Talbot Olivier, Natasha was employed at a boutique commercial law firm where she practised in employment law and general commercial litigation.

Natasha also worked with a leading national firm, during which time she was an associate at the Australian Industrial Relations Commission.

She also has a background in banking and finance, previously working at a major bank, where she was an active member of various steering committees and other human resource initiatives on employment issues.

Natasha's extensive experience is an asset to the firm and her appointment will further strengthen Talbot Olivier's workplace relations practice.

Talbot Olivier welcomes Melissa Gordon - July 2010

Talbot Olivier is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Gordon as lawyer within the estate planning and administration practice.

Melissa advises clients on trust law and related documentation, including family trust deeds, wills, enduring powers of attorney and binding and non-binding nominations for superannuation funds.

Melissa also possesses an in-depth understanding of deceased estate administration including probate, letters of administration, survivorship applications and applications by personal representatives.

Melissa's diverse experience is an asset to the firm and will play a leading role in driving opportunities for Talbot Olivier's estate planning and administration practice.

The practice of Family Law returns to Talbot Olivier

The Principals of Talbot Olivier are proud to announce the appointment of accredited family law specialist, Kym Kerr, as a Principal of the company.

Kym will be re-establishing the practice of family law at Talbot Olivier, an area of law practised for many years by former partner, the late Don Talbot.

Kym has extensive experience in the area of family law and is particularly interested in international matters, having acted for clients based in many overseas jurisdictions.  Kym also practised as a family lawyer in Victoria before relocating to WA in 2002.

Kym is also one of the few lawyers in Perth to practise in the newly legislated area of surrogacy in Western Australia.

The re-introduction of family law to Talbot Olivier further broadens our areas of practice and our ability to offer an extensive suite of legal services to our clients.

Big changes ahead in estate planning - February 2010 

From an estate planning perspective, big changes are ahead  - as of 15 February 2010 individuals will be able to make advance health directives and appoint guardians via an enduring power of guardianship.
