Experience
Rob is a highly-regarded litigation lawyer, with a background spanning over 10 years. Predominantly acting in insolvency and mediation matters.
His experience includes corporate and personal insolvency, business breakdown disputes, complex debt recovery, contract and property disputes, trade practices law, deceased estate disputes and applications for urgent injunctions.
Rob has acted for numerous property developers on large-scale commercial property development disputes, leasing matters, rent recovery, applications relating to caveats and property-related injunctions and contractual disputes concerning the validity of contracts of sale.
Rob advises company administrators, liquidators and bankruptcy trustees on insolvency matters connected with the reconstruction of personal and business interests, issues of debt, insolvency, risk management, bankruptcy and winding-up proceedings.
Career highlights
- Represented groups of buyers in successful Supreme Court actions for specific performance of contracts to purchase properties in strata lot developments.
- Acts for lessors in a wide variety of matters, including recovery of rent and possession and issues involving lessee corporations under administration and receivership.
- Acted for non-English speaking foreign nationals on a successful claim to recover a debt pursuant to an oral loan agreement, in which his clients gave evidence through translators and interpreters.
- Acts for both private and institutional lenders in relation to residential and commercial loans, with particular focus on interpreting and advising on loan contracts, mortgages and relevant legislation and recovery litigation.
